Ebay Sucks
On 10/16/06, Ebay ended my auction
and pulled my ad for "Unauthorized Copies (Copyright)" which is
Totally Ridiculous! Here's a copy of my ad and photo.
Ad: AUTHENTIC MONOGRAM MURAKAMI LOUIS VUITTON SPEEDY 30

There was no unauthorized copies of the photos or ad. I took the photos myself
so there is NO Copyright problem.
The purse is absolutely authentic and I have the receipt to prove it.
I had bids at $305 when they remove my ad a day before the auction was to end.
The purse is worth $1,900. and I might have gotten $600, $700 or
$800. at the close of the auction.
In a
bureaucratic
email they sent me as the reason for pulling my ad
and ending my auction, they
stated: "Sellers should take steps to
satisfy themselves that their items are authentic before listing
them on eBay. Sellers are responsible for the items they
sell, and selling an apparently infringing item may lead to
potential liability". Click here to view
I already took steps to satisfy that my
item is/was authentic before listing it. I listed the
serial number in my ad and have a receipt for the item.
In response I received from another a customer service rep they
stated in a form letter "Please
understand that we at eBay are not personally in a position to
judge the authenticity of high profile items listed on the
site." Click

They admit you are not personally
in a position to judge the authenticity of high profile items and
yet they took the extreme measure of terminating the sale of this
purse.
It seems to me that if "we at
eBay are not personally in a position to judge the authenticity
of high profile items listed on the site" they had no
business removing the item!
Seems that Ebay has gotten TOO
BIG, makes BIG MISTAKES and is costing people a lot of money.
